It is commonly known that hearing loss can make it hard to understand conversations in noisy environments and can also cause one to frequently ask others to repeat themselves. However, Linda Perrodou, a hearing aid award recipient from the Campaign for Better Hearing’s Give-back program, has a hearing loss experience that you probably never thought of.

“In addition to having family members repeat themselves and missing out on hearing my grandchildren, not being able to burp my four-month-old grandson because I am not able to hear him is the hardest thing about having hearing loss,” says Linda.
These little experiences are often taken for granted and really highlight the importance of hearing in our day-to-day lives.

Luckily, Linda was nominated for the Give-back program by Hearing Instrument Specialist Sandra Przepiorka from HearingLife (formerly ListenUP! Canada,) in Mississauga. The program awards hearing aids to those who need them but cannot afford them. These awards are made possible by our generous sponsors. For every free hearing test taken with us, $4.00 is donated towards the purchase of hearing aids that are then gifted to a Canadian in need.

“This will greatly improve my hearing,” says Linda. “I thank you for giving me these new hearing aids. I am sure they will help me in many ways.”
