Name: Scott Wyner
Location: Hearing Instrument Specialist at HearingLife Canada, Langley, British Columbia
“What is important to me is making the most of everything I do, whether that be in my personal life or professional life.”
When it comes to sports, Scott is a true outdoorsman, but when he isn’t riding the slopes, biking through the mountains or racing on his dirt bike, you can find him at the Hearinglife Canada clinic in Langley BC, helping clients treat their hearing loss. His optimism and can-do mentality is a welcomed attitude to the hearing healthcare community.
“What is important to me is making the most of everything I do,” says Scott, “whether that be in my personal life or professional life.”
Scott went to the University of the Fraser Valley for two years, took the one year Hearing Instrument Specialist course, and then sat for the board exam; he was certified in 2009. This career path is fitting for Scott considering that he’s been actively involved in his family’s hearing clinics since he was 17 years old.
“Having a family business that grew from the ground up was very exciting; it inspired me to pursue a career in hearing healthcare,” says Scott.
Another inspiring component of Scott’s career is the Campaign for Better Hearing. For every free hearing test taken with the campaign’s sponsors, $4.00 are donated towards the purchase of aids for those who really need them, but may not be able to afford them.
“The campaign is a wonderful way to be of service to someone who needs hearing aids yet cannot afford to purchase them on their own,” says Scott. “What I find most satisfying about my job is truly being able to make an impact in someone else’s quality of life.”
