Wanda Merriman from Smiths Falls dealt with hearing loss for years and needed new hearing aids.

“I like to go to community events like Bingo,” says Wanda, “but I can’t even hear the numbers being called and have to rely on someone beside me to help me.”

The Campaign for Better Hearing’s Give-Back Program awarded Wanda with two advanced hearing aids that are improving her life daily and allowing her to understand people in groups and noisy places. The campaign works to provide hearing aids to people in need with the help from our proud sponsors.

Wanda felt isolated from others, preferring to stay home rather than engage with people in public spaces. This is a common experience for those suffering from hearing loss but now, with her new hearing aids, Wanda can enjoy all the fun and excitement characteristic of social events.

“Having two new hearing aids will help me with conversations with my family,” Wanda added, “I have been struggling for many years and I could not afford to purchase new hearing aids so this award will help improve things every day.”
